Merlin Reichart (*1991) lives and works in Hamburg. He studied Design and Fine Arts at HFBK Hamburg in the classes of Jesko Fezer, Anselm Reyle and Simon Denny. Further he absolved semesters abroad at ENSBA Paris and ERG Brussels.
In his recent works he deals with topics like powerdynamics evoked by technology, the structural violence he sees embedded in various systems and processes and the anthropocenic view on global warming. Next to other materials his pieces consist mostly out of rough metal constructions that embedd some kind of interactive element and are decorated with symbols and objects that open up a variation of possible interpretations.
In an uncanny way he depicts the present and showscases a rather grimm perspective, though never without a cynical twist.
